Aviva Premiership Rugby Football Union club the Sale Sharks begin their new season in the English top flight in just a few days’ time and Henry Thomas is hopeful that the club can make a quick start to the new season and he can play a proper role in that run in order to gain more recognition at the international level with England this season.
The prop was part of the England side that won the two test series against Argentina in South America in June but was left out of the Elite squad of Stuart Lancaster’s side last month. The 21 year old was speaking to a local radio station and he mentioned that the root of this journey lies with the Sale Sharks and it is playing well with the club that will earn him a good reputation and recognition.
He is hopeful that all goes well for him and The Sharks and if it does happen, he will have the autumn internationals as well as the Six Nations to look forward to. Thomas was part of the England squad for the Six Nations in 2013 but didn’t get a match and was handed his debut in Argentina. He mentioned that his goal in Argentina was to win the two caps on offer and he did that. It might be worth a sportbet on him getting many more caps in the future.
He admitted that there are still some aspects to his game that he needs to improve and he is hopeful of making an impact at another time. The Sale Sharks is back in squad of the England Saxons and according to him, he needs to push hard once again in order to be recognized and get into the Elite squad and planning of England national team head coach Stuart Lancaster in time for the internationals at the end of this season.
