Redpath Returns to Take Over at Sale Sharks

Aviva Premiership side the Sale Sharks have appointed Bryan Redpath as their new Director of Rugby with the appointment marking the return and second coming of one of the most popular players in the history of The Sharks back to the club. The former boss of Gloucester Rugby resigned from his post in April and ever since then speculations had linked him with a return to the club where he spent five glorious seasons and finally, it has come to be the truth.

When Redpath resigned from his post at Gloucester Rugby and with speculation rife about his return to Sale, the management at Gloucester had threatened legal action against him if it was proved that his resignation was a direct action of an approach made by The Sharks but the claim was denied at the time by Steve Diamond, the Chief Executive Officer of the Sale Sharks. Diamond took over the control of affairs of the first team on the 24th of March this year after Tony Hanks was relieved of his duties.

According to Redpath, there have been plenty of changes since he left Edgeley Park and added that seven years of coaching with Gloucester Rugby had been brilliant and he had learnt a lot but it was always on the cards to return to his old hunting ground and he was pleased to be back as well. He also added that it was extremely pleasant to see some of the old faces still there at the club.

The Sale Sharks finished last season at 6th in the Aviva Premiership, and with the appointment of Redpath as their new boss, the club is hoping that their former hitman can lead the club out of troubled waters and back amongst the elite of the top tier of English rugby.
