Sharks Announce Five Year Contract For Academy Graduates

Sale Sharks are happy to confirm that Sharks Junior Academy’s highly successful five members have graduated and they have signed professional contracts with the club before the season of 2017/18.

The five members who completed their graduation are Sam Moore, Luke James, Matt Sturgess, Nic Dolly and Arron Reed; they all have signed the deal of five-years with the Sharks. Steve Diamond seeks to crop the rugby players of next generation following in the footsteps of the Curry brothers.

Academy Manager, Brendan Thomas, said: “The players are one of the sturdiest age-groups that our system has produced, and this was established when in February, the side made for the Finals Day.

“Now, all the members of the academy who has directly or indirectly worked with these five players are excited to see how these players develop and adapt in a full-time environment of rugby.”

He further added that, “The academy has a number of players who represent England this season through the age-levels ranging from U16-19 level, to Paolo Odogwu who has been called up for U20 World Championship. Our year of success was optimized with Ben and Tom Curry, who has been called up to Argentina this summer as senior tour

Tom making is starting his career for the national side and fro that he is putting in his brilliant performance. By having these highly efficient players with the club, will help the club in the long run. We are looking forward to build a number of players that are home grown players in the next five years of the first team.”

Sharks Rugby Director, Steve Diamond, said: “These five guys are the players of the next generation. All of them have signed contracts for the five years and have been training with academy member all over the summer.”
